 Soul Searching

In the midst

of the sadness

Sickness and disgrace

We search for a light

A bit of a way out

A peak of happiness

A longing for life

To be what we remember

Holding on 

To what is normal

But what is normal, really?

But a standard we set 

For ourselves

Something to achieve

And something to reach for

Even if we have to extend our

Reach to the sky
