When you're down....

Remember this... When you're down and out torn and tattered feeling like you don't matter remember this does not last forever. Your heart won't remain severed. Remember when we feel lonely, you are not the one and only. We do not go through the rough times alone and with the adequate love and support, we learn to ride the tide home and rejoice when we reach the surface. Nothing is ever perfect. So push the rough tide aside and learn to love with no strings attached. For we will see the positive results grow. Never throw away anything precious; life is too short to be regarded as just another nagging day; you never know when death may knock on your door to ask to play; live fully, love with your whole heart and hold on tight. For no one wins in life without a solid fight. The struggles and things that you face are meant to test your character, validate your importance, and show you the way. Discover your purpose, ignite the world, go after the call, and remember someone

My take on depression

To walk through the darkness with a brave face takes courage that is worthy beyond words, and it is something that often defies comprehension. Unless you have been there, you never quite understand just how opaque that darkness can be; or how hope can lift you up out of one of the worst nightmares you have ever had. Hope is the world’s greatest gift and it can be given through the spiritual world or persons surrounding it. I wish I could say that depression is permanently washed away the first time you feel that tinge of hope. The truth is, though, it is a pesky monster that lingers and teems above your head, threatening to return at any moment. Those of us who have experienced this type of intense sadness and depression are not weaker because of it. We are simply human.

alone in the dark-- a poem

alone in the dark do you ever feel alone in the dark? like the world will swallow your soul? if you do not secure your hold? like the regrets of old will come and attack you like a room filled with mold? making you toss and turn like your sleep cycle is left to burn? do you ever wonder when it is someone else's turn? safety is something for which we all yearn but first we must learn to content on our own to remember the times when we shone when we let our light illuminate the gold and refused to be left out in the cold no matter what the memories of old will try to become the lead leaving you there to suffer and bleed but we must relive the times when hope took fear's place and we were able to handle life at a steady pace and able to appreciate the beauty in every face we may want to turn back in the race but we must not treat life with haste it will be gone before you even get the chance to sample a taste

finding your purpose within yourself..

well, hello, blog, it has been a while. i am going to make it a goal of mine to be more consistent with this. it is a good exercise in writing, especially when i am just not in the mood to work on my memoir. today is one of those days. don't get me wrong.. i love the work i have done on it so far, but sometimes, there is an emotional overload, and it is just too much. today, though, i wanted to share a post about finding your purpose. we all want to find our purpose and some of us may never stop searching. it is like the world's biggest treasure chest at the bottom of the sea. we all want to find it to see what it contains, but it is awfully elusive and only a few of us are fortunate enough to even get a look at it. fortunately for me, i always knew what i wanted to do. well, i had an idea anyway. i have always wanted to help make the world a better place. given the current state of the world, this is quite a task that would require an act of congress, but someone has to help.
