My take on depression

To walk through the darkness with a brave face takes courage that is worthy beyond words, and it is something that often defies comprehension. Unless you have been there, you never quite understand just how opaque that darkness can be; or how hope can lift you up out of one of the worst nightmares you have ever had. Hope is the world’s greatest gift and it can be given through the spiritual world or persons surrounding it. I wish I could say that depression is permanently washed away the first time you feel that tinge of hope. The truth is, though, it is a pesky monster that lingers and teems above your head, threatening to return at any moment. Those of us who have experienced this type of intense sadness and depression are not weaker because of it. We are simply human.
